Rev. Davis McCammon, Sr.
Rev. Davis McCammon, Sr., age 76, of Maryville, received his Heavenly Reward Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Davis answered his call into the ministry and was ordained in 1984. He was pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Crossville for 15 years. Davis completed his service for the Lord as a member of Springview Baptist Church of Maryville. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army. He began a 52-year career in the lumber industry at Veach May Wilson and finished his career as a purchasing agent for Havco Wood Products in Vonore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison McCammon; brothers, Raymond, Lawrence, and Mike McCammon; sisters, Margaret Reagan and Viola Willocks; beloved son, Jerry Lynn Whitehead; and several loving in-laws. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Martha K. McCammon; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Gary Huffstetler; son, Davis McCammon, Jr.; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Ben Batchelor and Lynn and Valerie Huffstetler; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Cade, Audrey, Madison, and Ellie; sister, Leona Greenway; special niece, Cindy Cannon; and several loving brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Springview Baptist Church with the interment to follow at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Ben Ward and Rev. Alvin Patton officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.
