Samuel Ephriam Trentham

Samuel Ephriam Trentham, age 89, was born 24 Sept. 1923 near the Smoky Mountains National Park Headquarters and the Sugarlands Visitor Center where Highway 441 crosses Two Mile Branch. He went to reside with his Lord and Savior November 10, 2012, peacefully at his home with family at his side. He was a self-employed man of many trades, carpenter, plumber, electrician, land surveyor and mason who worked until he was 87 years old. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville, Tenn., for over 50 years, enjoyed camping and was a member of the Ft. Loudon Camping Club for many years. His main love of life was always his family. He was always loved and highly respected by everyone who knew him. Preceeded in death by grandparents: Robert L. and Mary “Polly” Fancher Trentham, Ephriam and Mary Ann Reagan Ogle; parents, Noah and Mary Jane Ogle Trentham; half siblings, Orlie Trentham, Lillie T. Watson, Mack Trentham, Willie Trentham, Munsey Trentham, Ollie Carr Trentham, Mayme Carr Trentham, Wesley Carr; siblings and spouses, Kate and Rev. Hulett Stogner of Newport, Tenn., Gladys and Sam Russell of Maryville, Tenn., Harmon and Lena Whaley Trentham of Dillwyn, Va.; son-in-law, Earl Lancaster, Louisville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Kathy Runyan Overstreet, Warren, Ore.; and grandsons, Ryan Overstreet of Oregon and Thomas Bright of Maryville, Tenn. Suvivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Ruby Stogner Trentham, Maryville, Tenn.; children, Jack Overstreet, Warren, Ore., Lillian Lancaster, Louisville, Tenn., Michael and Cynthia (C A) Trentham, Bulls Gap, Tenn., Pat and Tom Carver, Maryville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Annie O. and Joe Harrison, and Cindy Flukinger Overstreet of Oregon, Tina and Chris Collins of Greenback, Tenn., Cindy and Brett Norrod and Stacie Bright of Maryville, Tenn., Liana and James Pesterfield of Louisville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Josi Harrison, Hayden and Kendall Overstreet of Oregon, Kaitlyn and Olivia Collins, Brittany, Fletcher and Benjamin Norrod, and Julie Bright of Maryville, Tenn., Bethany Pesterfield of Louisville, Tenn.; sister, Bonnie T Myers of Sarasota, Fla.; best friend, Bill Gray and wife, Margaret; and numerous special nephews and nieces. Special thanks to the Hospice caregivers and Home Instead Senior Care who assisted the family as he struggled with congestive heart failure. Special thanks to Angel Donovan. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday with funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with his nephew, Rev. Terry Russell, officiating.
