Sergeant First Class Jeffrey Allan McCroskey

Sergeant First Class Jeffrey Allan McCroskey, age 47, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He served for over 25 years with the Active Army and Tennessee Army National Guard, 278th Calvary Regimental Headquarters. Jeff was an avid reader and loved working in the garden with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) McCroskey Sr.; sisters, Doris McCroskey and Sandy McCroskey Hood; and brother, Eddie McCroskey. Survivors include wife, Kathy Keeton McCroskey; son, Reese McCroskey; daughter, Deidra McCroskey; mother, Lillian McCroskey Marshall and husband Duane; sister, Kathy McCroskey Dalton and husband Mike; half brother, Bill McCroskey Jr. and wife Ada; half sisters, Elizabeth Romines and Eleanor King; mother and father-in-law, Everett and Helen Keeton; brother-in-law, Don Keeton; nephews, Adam Hood and David Dalton; nieces, Rebecca Lewis and Kelli Gibson; several great nieces and nephews, extended family members, special friends, and service members with whom he proudly served our country. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prospect Elementary School Library, 1535 Burnett Station Road, Seymour, TN 37865. Funeral service 7 p.m. Sunday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Ken Abbott and Dr. Tom Robbins officiating. Graveside service and interment 11:30 a.m. Monday in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) with full military honors and service being led by Army Chaplain Mark Phillips.
