Shirley M. Dupre
Shirley M. Dupre, age 70, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Maryville after a brave struggle with cancer. Shirley was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dupre; parents, James and Thomasina Black; and brothers, Jim and Brian Black. She is survived by her son, Roy Navarre; daughter-in-law, S. Silvia Navarre; and two grandchildren, Luke and Dominic, in Washington state; her twin sister, Anne Mackenzie and brother Archie Black in Scotland; and her companion, Thomas Urban. Shirley loved the Smokies for decades and moved to Walland in 2008 from Louisiana. The family is deeply grateful for the kindness shown to her by the staff at Blount Memorial, Morningview Village and Asbury Place. A private ceremony will be held. Memorial funeral home in Maryville is in charge of arrangements.
