Stella Mae Best, age 88, of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the family home. She was a member of Centenary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by first husband, Murriel Steele; second husband, Roy Best; daughter, Bobbie Jean Downey; grandson, Gregory Todd Downey; parents, Cas and Lora Forster; sister, Blanche Potter; brother, Willie Forster. Survived by son, Douglas Steele of Maryville; grandchildren, Tim “Teresa” Downey of Woodstock, Ga., Teresa Lynn Downey of Canton, Ga., Tami “Rev. Tim” Kinnersley of Sugar Hill, Ga., Traci Towns of Kennesaw, Ga., Misti “Jake” Russell of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Ashlee, Blake, Chelsea, Hunter, Brooke, Braydon and Chase; special stepdaughter, Dorothy Jean Cooke of Maryville; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Tim Kinnersley officiating. Graveside and interment to follow at Carpenters Campground Methodist Church Cemetery.
