Thomas ‘Tim’ Madison Byar, Jr.
Thomas “Tim” Madison Byar, Jr., age 75, resident of Knoxville, passed away on July 15, 2012. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Dr. Thomas Madison Byar, Sr., and Ruth Peery Byar; and brother, Dr. David Peery Byar. Tim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Callaway Byar of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Michelle Byar of Dandridge, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Robert Smiddy of Knoxville; grandchildren, Crystal and Kaitlyn Byar, and Elizabeth and Sarah-Catherine Smiddy. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday at Fountain City United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Randy Frye, Rev. Melissa Smith, and Rev. Daniel Ogle officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the G.E.D.
