Dr. Sarah Virginia Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Stephen Johnson, of Greenville, S.C., was united in marriage with Benton Neil Taylor, son of the Honorable Thomas William Taylor and Mrs. Taylor, of Maryville, at 5 p.m. May 25 at The Grove at Pennington in Greer, S.C. The Rev. Robert A. Hayes officiated.
Maids of honor were the bride’s sisters, Laura Caroline Johnson and Allison Johnson. Bridesmaids were Samantha Cronin, Anne Piacentino, Annie Mardre, Alexandra Moore, Dr. Sarah Rush and Eleanor Winn.
The bridegroom’s nephew, Frank Taylor, was the ring bearer. Program attendants were Bonnie Chasteen and Kendal Toohey.
The bridegroom’s brother, Dr. Robert Taylor, served as best man. Groomsmen were Andy Brown, Travis Groth, Erik Hall, Peter Johnson, Drew Morgan, Andrew Rust and Luke Wilkinson. Ushers were Matt Johnson and Joe Norskov.
A reception was held at The Huguenot Loft in Greenville, S.C.
After a wedding trip to Alaska, the couple will reside in New York City.
The bride is a graduate of Clemson University and the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. She will begin a dental residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John Lester Ridgeway, of Greenville, S.C., the late John Ridgeway, and the late Rev. and Mrs. Rufus Oates Johnson.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Maryville College and Clemson University. He will enter a doctoral program in biology at Columbia University in New York City.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Joseph Wilson Taylor, of Maryville, the late Mr. Taylor, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Louis Krause.
