Accountability does matter in government
Dear Editor:
Recent congressional investigation of the shilly-shallying through claims of who murdered U.S. diplomats at Benghazi failed to satisfactorily answer questions as to whether the Obama administration attempted to cover up State Department misfeasance. Instead we were given a denial of necessity for these answers by Hillary Clinton’s response: A question, ”What difference does it make?” Followed by, “People are dead,” And finally, a “kiss and cry” account that was more boast than contrition.
She disowned responsibility for security failure, saying that paperwork requesting enhancement had never crossed her desk. She then berated Congress, specifically those present, for failure to fund the increased security measures she had just admitted to not having requested. This is pure and deliberate humbuggery.
Sen. Ron Paul said that she should have been fired. I truly believe that a president with Truman’s grit would have disregarded Clinton’s pending retirement and fired her as proof that accountability does matter.
Yours truly,
