Aid to terrorist enemies unbelievable
Dear Editor:
I find it hard to comprehend that 81 United States senators would vote to continue sending money to Egypt, Libya and Pakistan after people in these countries have attacked our embassy, burned our flag and even killed our citizens.
We need to send each one an affidavit that says, “I voted yes to keep sending American taxpayer dollars to the countries who have made terrorist attacks against the United States.”
Each senator could sign the affidavit and publish it in all their local newspapers for the voters to see. That would surely help them in their re-election campaigns.
The article I read went on to say that they seemed in a hurry to leave Washington. I can only wonder why.
Moves like this one makes it easy to understand why the current Congress has a 10 percent approval rating (lowest in history).
Sen. Lamar Alexander has come out to cosponsor a “No Budget-No Pay” bill that forces the senate to pass a budget or their pay would stop.
Give me a break senator, why would the Democrats vote for a bill that would stop their pay? They have not passed a budget in over three years, why would they now?
They know as the deadline to shut down the government approaches, a group of spineless Republicans will cross over and vote for another extension as they have in the past.
The 33 seats that are up this year need to have new owners.
Maybe then the remaining 67 Senate bureaucrats (bureaucrat — an official who worries by fixed routine without exercising intelligent judgment) would understand that the American people are tired of business as usual in Washington.
Politicians who actually do their jobs would be a “Change We Could Believe In.”
God Bless America.
