Christian ideals are at work in Louisville

Dear Editor:

During this holy season, we hear many platitudes about helping your fellow man, being a good Christian, extending a hand to someone in need.

Town of Louisville has an example of not just talk but of actually doing it. Many are aware of the fire that destroyed Tony Webb’s home on Louisville Road (DT Dec. 3), leaving Tony’s life in crisis. The past year had already been difficult for Tony with the passing of his Mom and Dad within a few months’ time. Priority number one for Tony and partner Steve Holcombe was a place to live while rebuilding their lives.

Enter Rob and Sanya Tingle of Louisville Main Street. They had fixed up a home next to their residence alongside the Tennessee River and had advertised it for rent. A deal was on the horizon. However, when Ron and Sanya heard about Tony Webb’s predicament, they invited Tony and Steve to move into their rental home — rent free for at least a few months until they get back on their feet. This is a gift worth thousands of dollars and untold amounts of brotherly love. Rob Tingle, an employee of DENSO, will be remembered as a member of Town of Louisville Board of Mayor and Alderman. Rob was not afraid to ask questions or speak out for what he thought was right and good for the town. He never sought personal gain for any of his positions.

Rob and Sanya have put their Christian ideals into action. I commend them. I am certain that God will bless them for recognizing who is their neighbor. Town of Louisville is a better place because of folks like Rob and Sanya Tingle.
