Cost of two wars put us in this hole
Dear Editor:
Here is some information which you may not know, as I try to dispel widely circulated false claims that the GOP likes to make.
During the last 40 years, these are the facts!
The last U.S. president to have a balanced budget was Democrat Clinton 98-01.
The only other U.S. president to have a balanced budget was Democrat LBJ 1969.
No Republican president has had a balanced budget since Republican Eisenhower 1956.
During the last 40 years, there have been five budget surpluses, all under Democrat presidents.
Big tax-and-spend Democrats — false.
President Obama was handed two wars which President Bush had been using our credit card to pay for them. No wonder it’s taken so long to get out of the ditch we found ourselves in.
If you want further proof just look at the deep financial hole our 100 percent Republican County Commission has dug for its citizens to get out of.
