Delay of Amelia Keown law not reasonable
Have the Tennessee legislators become as incompetent and corrupt as the federal government? Any time we see a new law or a change in an existing law proposed, there is always an excuse to delay this action. It seems they are always protecting the criminals and ignoring the law-abiding citizens.
House Bill 199 (known as “Amelia Keown’s Law”) has been put off, citing cost as the reason. The biggest change in the existing law changing the requirement from three to four members of the Board of Probation and Parole to grant a parole. It would require the board to keep records which include social, physical, mental, psychiatric and criminal information on any inmate considered for parole. Excuse me, do these morons on the board not check the history of the inmate now?
Maybe one of our educated fool legislators will respond and tell us how changing the three to four and requiring records to be kept on the inmates will cost the state $668,000.
