Fred Goins praised as school principal
I live in the Carpenters Campground community. At the heart of this community are Carpenters Elementary School and Carpenters Middle School. At the head of Carpenters Elementary School was Mr. Fred Goins with a slew of awesome teachers and staff. That is why they are one of the exemplary schools in Tennessee.
Mr. Goins is one of the most caring principals that my grandchildren have had the fortune of knowing. Mr. Goins loved his students and they loved him, and not only did the students love him but their parents and grandparents as well. He made a personal effort to know each child and most of their parents.
He always had a hug available for any child. Every time that I came to school to eat lunch with my granddaughter, Mr. Goins was in the lunchroom interacting with the children. He talked with them about how their day was going and more importantly, he listened to them. I know that the new principal will do very well, but Mr. Goins has left his wonderful mark forever on Carpenters Elementary School. He will be greatly missed.
Enjoy your retirement, Mr. Goins. You deserve it after all these years of educating our children. Just know you left your footprints in the hearts of the children. My family and I wish Mr. Goins all the best. God bless him and his family.
