Dear Editor:

A special thank you to The Daily Times for the “Special Edition Insert” recently celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Blount County Public Library facility. We appreciate your support and willingness to share the information on the history and current programs of the Blount County Public Library. We had a very successful celebration beginning in the afternoon with the free children’s events and continuing into the evening with the dessert and coffee vendors, entertainment and the presentation of The Champion of the Library Award.

The Champion of the Library Award was presented to Marti Black, attorney with Kizer & Black, Attorneys, PLLC. Ms. Black has been a supporter of the library and has given countless hours of volunteer work to this organization.

We thank all the sponsors, contributors, vendors, the Foundation Board of Directors, Friends of the Library, library trustees, library staff and the Birthday Celebration Committee in making this a successful event.

Thanks also to Holly Burkett, who helped me co-chair this event. We thank the committee for the support of the Blount County Public Library and ask for your continued support as we look toward the future.
