Morgan commended on school campaign
Dear Editor:
I would like to commend Candy Morgan on running an excellent and positive school board campaign. I appreciate that Candy referenced the many awards, accolades and achievements accomplished by Maryville City Schools recently.
She did not feel the need, as other candidates did, to marginalize our system’s successes or the dedication and hard work of Director of Schools Stephanie Thompson, and the current school board. Mrs. Morgan works in our schools daily and recognizes that the success we have attained is by constant teamwork and communication between our students, educators, administrators, school board, central office staff, families and community.
In a time where change is mandated very frequently from our state and national governments, Mrs. Thompson, the central office, and the school board have done an amazingly transparent job of communicating these changes to all parties with a vested interest. I appreciate that Mrs. Morgan has recognized this, as well as the time she put in to researching these facts and speaking accurately about MCS. I, like many others, am truly grateful for the countless hours Mrs. Morgan, as well as many others, have given our students.
