Obama’s energy policies confusing

Dear Editor:

Coal too dirty, nuclear energy too dangerous, and let’s prevent drilling for new oil an gas in the continental U.S. and ANWR. We must abandon fossil fuels or make them so expensive that we are left with only green energy, “the Holy Grail of the left,” says John Ransom.

After Obama’s moratorium on Gulf Coast oil drilling was found to be illegal, he violated the court by using EPA permitting processes to create the same effect. Mark Green in his article “The Effects of a Moratorium and Permit’s Slowdown” Jan. 22, 2011, says we lost $18.3 billion for 2010 and 2011. Eleven deep water rigs moved to other countries e.g. Egypt, Venezuela and Brazil at a loss of $21.4 billion costing us 72,000 jobs in 2010 alone.

TransCanada says 20,000 U.S. jobs would be created by the Keystone pipeline just during the construction phase. Imagine the jobs that would be created by refining 700,000 barrels a day. China wants that oil and is currently negotiating with Canada. That’s all we need, a stronger China and a weaker U.S.

Saddest of all is that the economic health of a nation depends on its energy resources. Obama claims to be a job creator seeking to be independent from foreign oil, but everything he does says otherwise. With Obama, up is down, red is green and hypocrisy reigns.

A final thought: Do you believe that the destruction of the American economy is happening by accident or has it been carefully crafted? When Obama says he wants to radically change America, is it not becoming clear by now what he means? When you look at the millions of citizens who can’t find work, college graduates with poor futures, home foreclosures, children saddled with trillions of debt before they are born, tent cities, government crony pay-to-play schemes, continuous attacks on religious freedom, the government suing states for protecting their borders, you are looking at Obama’s America. Four more years of team Obama and we will have a future like the Titanic.
