Reader fears federal government control
Dear Editor:
Can you imagine the complete outrage of the American people if any one of our Republican presidents during the past 40 years had surrounded himself with a group of cooing babies while signing into law an executive order mandating the reversal of Roe v. Wade, all for the sake of potentially preserving more than 3,000 American lives every day? And yet our current president did so single-handedly with the recent implementation of the new gun law, ostensibly under the admirable guise of protecting lives, and predictably flanked by the smilingly supportive mainstream media and other liberal allies.
I can’t help but notice the glaring inconsistencies of public reaction when Mr. Obama somehow continues to sidestep our legislative checkpoints in order to railroad his personal agenda right past our noses.
Are we asleep or are we so completely hypnotized by the political rhetoric and irresistible charm of this president in allowing this type of elusive behavior? His unprecedented actions seem to continue without measurable accountability or consequence of any kind.
Make no mistake about it, the criminals will always find a way of gaining access to their desired weapons. The only real change resulting from this new law will be that of bringing the common, law-abiding American citizen further into a helplessly weakened state of total subjection to both the outlaws and a power-hungry government.
At the current rate of progression — regression, really — all of us aboard this Democratically controlled roller coaster will soon pass a marker on our descent from freedom, which will read, “Welcome to Nazi Germany/USA.” God help America!
