Reader is unhappy with food stamps
Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter in regards to the food stamp program.
Why is it every time cost of living goes up, taxes, utility bills, gas (cooking, heating, and fuel), the food stamps go down.
Me and my wife used to get $178 a month, now we get $168 a month since everything went up. We do not think that is right. The people who are poor and living just above the poverty line, especially the elderly, are having a hard time surviving.
In the early times there was a good Robin Hood who robbed the rich to pay the poor. Now in this day and time Robin Hood robs the poor to pay the rich.
Me and my wife think that there should be a change in the way they do, either come down on everything where the population can afford it or raise food stamps. We are speaking for everybody, especially the poor homeless people out there.
