Tax increase is major for individual Americans

Dear Editor:

As I watch the news and read the newspaper, it becomes harder and harder to understand how the politicians in Washington were elected to office. They all are acting like a bunch of kindergarten kids playing the “blame game.” Anything bad that happens is never their fault, it’s always the other party’s fault.

As the largest tax increase in history grows nearer, a decision about the “fiscal cliff” needs to be made. When the president of the United States makes the statement, “What separates us is probably a few hundred billion dollars,” one has to wonder about his mentality. How much is a few hundred billion? To the tax-paying American people, it is a large amount of money. To an administration that has added $6 trillion to the national debt, it may not sound like a lot of money. This debt did not happen because of not enough taxes, but because out-of-control spending by our incompetent politicians in Washington. If changes are not made, this country is facing another Great Depression.

Politicians, stop spending money we do not have! Senate Democrats, get off your rear ends and pass a budget so we can control the money being spent and start lowering our national debt, and getting America back to the greatness it once was.

God Bless America.
