Turning backs on God is bringing judgment

Dear Editor:

I am writing in response to the latest tragedy that has occurred in our great nation. As I look back in memory I see violence increasing, weather patterns changing bringing death and damage, drug dependency exploding, our economy on the brink of collapsing, our nation divided, our leaders with questions but not answers, diseases with no cures in sight, our soldiers fighting wars that make no sense and that seem to accomplish nothing. The list just goes on and on.

We have turned our backs on God by turning our hearts and minds away from His word and in doing so have brought the judgment of almighty God on us as individuals and as a nation.

Psalm 9:17: The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Our nation was once rightly described as a Christian nation. Now it is simply referred to as a religious nation. Look what we have done in the last 50 years that go against Christianity and the word of God. We have taken the Bible and prayer out of our schools, legalized the murder of our babies in the mother’s womb; we are currently making laws that destroy God’s pattern of what is considered a family; we have saturated our nation with alcoholic beverages yet we are a “religious nation.” The answer! Repent and return!

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

With love and concern for America,

In the name of Jesus,
