Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service is Tuesday

The Blount County Ecumenical Action Council will hold its annual Community Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Road, Maryville.
Participants will sing hymns, have prayers, celebrate God"s goodness and be thankful as a community. Representative Jimmy Duncan will read the President's Proclamation.
"We want as many people to come as possible," said Sally Sjostrom, who is a member of the council.
Those attending are asked to bring canned goods to be donated to the Food Connection. A monetary offering will be received for the Blount Good Neighbors Program, a community ministry of the Blount County Ecumenical Action Council, which provides emergency assistance to Blount County neighbors in need.
