From Staff Reports
A Louisville man claims he was robbed at knife point in Alcoa Tuesday after pulling over because of car trouble.
According to an Alcoa Police report, the 30-year-old man told officers he had just left Ian’s Market, 1354 N. Wright Road, and pulled into the Alcoa Little League parking lot, 1223 N. Wright Road, because his car was sputtering.
The man reported that when he got out of his vehicle, an unidentified male approached him from behind the car and demanded his wallet while brandishing a knife. According to the report, the man fought with the assailant before the man was able to take his wallet and flee. The 30-year-old man reported that he believed his arm was broken during the altercation. Officers also observed the man to have a swollen right eye, where he said the other man hit him.
The offender reportedly fled on foot east on Maple Street.
The 30-year-old’s wallet, insurance card and Tennessee driver’s license, which were taken, were valued at $25.
The man was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
The unidentified assailant was said to be wearing blue jeans and a “silk-like” hooded sweatshirt.
An Alcoa K-9 officer responded to the scene but was not able to track the assailant. Officers reported they searched the area but could not find anyone matching the description of the suspected offender.
