STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Tennessee Lady Vols softball team completed the 2008 campaign ranked No. 14 nationally in the final USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll. The Lady Vols registered a 50-16 overall record, posting the program's fifth consecutive 50-plus win season, while advancing to the NCAA regionals for the fifth straight year.

UT has now been rated in each of the last 75 USA Today/NFCA polls dating back to the initial listing of the 2004 campaign.

National champion Arizona State (66-5) finished as the unanimous choice at No. 1 following its undefeated run through the annual Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla. WCWS runner-up Texas A M (57-10) held down the No. 2 slot, with Southeastern Conference champion Florida (70-5) sitting in third. Alabama (58-8) and UCLA (51-9) rounded out the top five.
