Looking for employees? Looking for a job? Maybe a better job? The Blount County Chamber of Commerce Job Fair will be held noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 21, at Foothills Mall.
“This is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to hand out resumes, pick up company literature, talk one-on-one with human resource personnel and submit employment applications,” said Teri Braham, Chamber chair. “This is also an excellent opportunity for employers to discover the talented, motivated individuals they’re looking for.”
In addition, representatives will be on hand to help exhibitors post their job openings on the Blount Area Job Board at www.blountareajobs.com. This is a free Web site that helps match local employers with job seekers specifically searching for a career in the Blount County area.
“Exhibitors will benefit from this paperless system that links to other job boards, allows easy updates and enables employers to respond to job seekers quickly,” Braham said, noting that companies can also use the site to track recruiting sources and manage applicants.
Job fair booth space is still available for businesses looking for employees. Cost is $150 for Chamber members and $250 for nonmembers. The cost includes an eight-foot skirted table, chairs, signage and refreshments.

Exhibitors who have already signed up include ALCOA Inc., Blount Memorial Hospital, Spectrum Home Services, Manpower Inc., Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, Express Employment Professionals, H&R Block, Tennessee Career Center, Randstad, BB&T, Capital Financial Group LLC, Clayton Homes/Vanderbilt Mortgage, Northwestern Mutual Financial Group, UT Federal Credit Union and Tennessee Technology Center at Knoxville.
