Article published Apr 10, 2009 Blount officials report minimum storm damage

East Tennessee braced for storms and tornadoes, but Blount County appears to have weathered it with little damage.
Bill Dunlap, Blount County Highway Department superintendent, said crews had not received any calls for service as of 6:15 p.m.
The Blount County Fire Department responded at 5:40 p.m. to report of lighting hitting a residence at 109 Rockford Heights, with a possible electric fire. No one was reported injured.
About 100 Alcoa Electric customers remain without electricity as of 6:30 p.m. As many as 6,000 were without power this morning.
Troy Morgan, Alcoa Electric Service Dept. Supervisor, said power to all customer should be restored within the hour.
