Host families needed this summer
The Maryville College Center for International Education is seeking families to host Japanese high school students this summer.

The group of students will be visiting July 18 through Aug. 1. Families must provide daily transportation to and from the college, arriving by 8:15 a.m. and departing by 5 or 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Students are required by their school in Japan to attend church on Sundays.

Interested families must supply references and be willing for college staff to visit their homes. Families must also live within 15 minutes of the college. For more information, contact Micki Pruitt at micki.pruitt@maryville college.edu.Trike course being offered at Pellissippi
Trikes represent a growing segment of the motorcycle market, and their increase in popularity has resulted in a corresponding increase in the demands for instruction in their unique handling characteristics.

The new Trike Course offered by Pellissippi State Technical Community College consists of both classroom instruction and range time. The one-day trike class is taught by Gold Wing Road Riders Association certified Knoxville Rider Education Rider Coaches.

Courses are offered on Saturdays at the campus on Hardin Valley Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summer dates are July 11 and Aug. 8.

The Alcoa High School Class of 1979 will hold its 30-year reunion from 7 to 11 p.m. July 3 at Top of the Plaza, 200 E. Broadway Ave. in Maryville. Invitations were sent in mid-May. The Everett High School Alumni Luncheon will be held June 30 at Heritage High School. All former teachers and graduates who attended from 1922-1971 are invited. Bring a covered dish and drinks. Lunch will be served at noon. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Bring photographs to share and take new ones to add to your collection.

The host class for 2009 will be the Class of 1956.
