An open letter to Blount County
From Haven House
Dear Blount countians,

We need your help to reopen the Haven House emergency shelter after a recent fire. As the community banded together in 1981 to create Haven House, it is time again to rally around this important organization that has proven its worth time and time again. A critical component of Haven House services has been disrupted due to a fire last week at the emergency shelter. It is essentially closed for business until we complete repairs.

Haven House provides many services to residents, including community education, prevention programs and critical services to victims of domestic violence. Without the Haven House crisis line, emergency shelter, support groups, advocacy, and safety planning, many experiencing the ravages of mental, emotional, and physical battering would have nowhere to turn.

Please write a tax-deductible check or organize a fundraiser; now is the time to take action! For more information, call the Haven House office at (865) 983-6818 or e-mail jshaver@havenhousetn.org. The mailing address is Haven House, P.O. Box 134, Alcoa, TN 37701.

Thousands of victims live in our midst, both adults and children. Let's reach out and show them how much our community values them!

Thank you for past support and your help in this time of need!

The Haven House Board of Directors and Staff
