— Gail Taylor Berry, 43, Ski Lane, Maryville, was arrested by Maryville police on June 17 on charges of possession of a Schedule IV substance with intent to sell or deliver and driving on a suspended driver's license. She was being held in lieu of $6,000 in bonds pending 9 a.m. June 23 hearings in Blount County General Sessions Court.

— Dennis Michael Denson, 24, U.S. 411 South, Maryville, was arrested by Alcoa police on June 17 on a charge of theft of property by shoplifting. He was released on a $750 bond pending a 1:30 p.m. June 24 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

Alcoa

— U.S. Foods, 269 Kings Court, Alcoa, reported at 8:19 a.m. June 17 a possible embezzlement of $5,927.41. A company official told police that a former employee had received $5,927.41 of product for various customers, but the customers had never received the product. The company is attempting to get in touch with the former employee.

— Paul Caudle, Knoxville, reported at 2 p.m. June 17 that the Sony CD player had been removed from the 2001 Honda Prelude he attempted to sell on consignment at Eagle Automotive, 4040 Alcoa Highway, Alcoa. Caudle put the vehicle on the lot in December 2008 and went to get it on April 15. The car also had an additional 1,000 miles on it.

Blount County

— A carpenter reported at 8:27 p.m. June 17 that a building under construction on Old Cades Cove Road, Townsend, had been burglarized. Stolen were Dewalt sawzall and screw gun, Ryobi sawzall, Skil jigsaw, Ridgid hammer drill and belts with assorted tools, various hammers, Bostich pin nail gun and staple gun, two shovels, one pick and two wood chisels. Estimated value of items was $1,127. Owners of the building were listed as Regina D. Warnett. Colonel Jim Drive, Maryville, and Judy Johns, East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Walland.

Maryville

— Caroline L. Dixon, Marshall Street, Maryville reported at 11:04 a.m. to Maryville police and 3:01 p.m. to Blount County Sheriff's Office that a woman stole checks from her residence and cashed them. According to the Blount County police report, the woman allegedly confessed to forging several checks. Some were also forged in Alcoa and Knox County. Amount of all is not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

— Cynthia N. Tipton, France Court, Maryville, reported at 4:33 p.m. June 17 that her debit card was stolen from her vehicle June 12 and someone attempted to use it.

— Noel A. Arwood, Hickman Road, Rockford, reported at 6:06 p.m. June 17 that when he came home he saw a man behind his boat and when the man saw Arwood, he took off running into the woods. The man had reportedly tried to remove the motor from the boat.

— Estella Robinson, Knoxville, reported at 6:48 p.m. June 17 that she parked her vehicle at Louisville Point Park, which is located at the end of Cox Road off Louisville Road in Louisville. When she came back someone had taken her purse from the locked vehicle. Purse, credit cards, money, checks, drivers license and assorted keys were valued at $50.

— Robert B. Morgan, Tackwood Trail, Maryville, reported at 11:15 p.m. June 17 that he parked his truck on Old Walland Highway near Ellejoy Road and went bicycle riding. When he returned he laid his back pack in the bed of the truck and took a short ride to cool down. When he returned the back pack was missing. Backpack, swim trunks and truck key were valued at $81.Traffic

— Robert Maynor, Nashville, and William Yager, Harriman; at 5 p.m. June 17 in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 1030 Hunters Crossing Drive, Alcoa. Henry Maynor, 16, was reported injured but was not taken to the hospital for treatment.Domestic violence
Maryville

— A 34-year-old Maryville woman reported at 6:28 p.m. June 17 that she and her 17-year-old daughter had been staying in Maryville with a 20-year-old man and his sister. The man was her daughter's boyfriend. The woman was planning on moving out and the daughter didn't want to go with her. According to the police report, the daughter said she didn't want to go with her mother because in the past she has been assaulted, abused and neglected by her mother and believed that she would be safer if she stays at this residence. She reportedly said her mother wouldn't take her to school, but her boyfriend was helping her get back and forth to school. The mother reiterated she did not want her daughter to stay at the residence. Department of Children's Services responded because of the abuse allegation. Officers learned the mother had an outstanding warrant out of Knox County. The report states the mother allegedly attempted to assault her daughter, who stood behind her boyfriend. Maryville officers arrested the mother and charged her with domestic assault. DCS found a foster home for the daughter.

— A 20-year-old Maryville girl reported at 7:30 p.m. June 17 that she was in a Maryville park and a 20-year-old man, no address given, was talking "trash" about her earlier in the day and she hit him. The man then allegedly hit her in the face and threw her to the ground a couple of times. According to the police report, there were no marks on her face, but she had scratches on the knee, wrist, arm and palm. She was taken to Blount MemoriaL Hospital for treatment. Legal options were explained to her. No contact was made with the man.Births
