Case filed June 23 in Law Division of Blount County Circuit Court:Arrests
— Matthew Lee Jones, 24, Mountain View Circle, Maryville, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 24 on a charge of violation of probation granted after a felony conviction. He was being held without bond pending a 9 a.m. June 29 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
— Micha Starr Nichols, 31, Knoxville, was arrested by Alcoa police officers on June 23 on a charge of a theft of property by shoplifting. He allegedly took two Nintendo video games and attempted to leave Wal-Mart, 1030 Hunters Crossing Drive, Alcoa, without paying for the items. The games were valued at $39.92. She was released on a $1,000 bond pending a 1:30 p.m. July 1 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
— Donna M. Stephenson, 43, Rocky Branch Road, Walland, was cited by Maryville police officers at 4:57 p.m. June 23 with theft of property by shoplifting. According to a Maryville police report, a clerk at Browns Creek Wine & Spirits, 1701 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, said Stephenson was seen concealing a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, worth $31.99, and attempting to leave the store without paying for it. Officers reported that Stephenson said she took the vodka because she did not have money and admitted to shoplifting from the store on more than one occasion. Stephenson is required to appear at 9 a.m. July 28 in Blount County General Sessions Court to address the citation.
— James William Welch, 44, Cross Creek Drive, Maryville, was arrested by Maryville police on June 24 on a charge of violation of an order of protection. He was released on a $1,000 bond pending a 9 a.m. July 2 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

— Crystal M. Jones, Heather Glen Drive, Maryville, reported at 8:55 p.m. June 23 vehicle burglary at the Greenbelt parking lot on Williams Mill Road and Alcoa Trail. She left her vehicle locked with the windows cracked and walked for about 30 minutes. When she returned someone had forced down the driver's side window and taken several items, including a wallet, $248 in cash, a $300 necklace, an iPod valued at $375, and a cell phone valued at $350. She also reported $75 in damage to the vehicle.
Maryville
— Julie Bridenbaugh, Stonehenge Drive, Maryville, reported at 11:30 a.m. June 20 that someone applied for Best Buy, Sear's, Home Depot and Target credit cards with her personal information and made purchases with them.
— The owner of Razzberries, 220 Court Street, Maryville, reported on June 23 that two checks were returned to the store on a closed account.
— A representative of the Blount County Public Library, 505 N. Cusick Street, Maryville, reported at 3:23 p.m. June 23 theft of a paper recycling can, worth $250, from outside of the business near the back door.
— The executive director of the Blount County Children's Home, 903 McCammon Ave., Maryville, reported at 8:30 p.m. June 23 that someone broke out a basement at the home and took a bank bag containing $1,840. Damage to the window was estimated at $500.Vandalism Blount County
— Tom A. Greer, Knoxville, reported at 9:41 p.m. June 23 that a window was broken out of his residence on Deer Trot Trail, Tallassee, but nothing was missing inside of the residence. Damage was estimated at $100.
— Kristi D. Dunlap, Mentor Road, Louisville, reported at 4:23 a.m. June 24 that someone broke the windshield and a window out of her Chrysler SJI convertible, threw paint on the vehicle and knocked another window loose. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
Maryville
— Karen G. Sweet, Big Springs Ridge Road, Friendsville, reported at 12:36 p.m. June 22 that someone tried to pry a window off, breaking a window pane and glass, in a rear door at a house under construction on Wright Road. Damage was estimated at $625.Damaged Property Blount County
— James R. Harrison, Mentor Road, Louisville, reported at 2:28 p.m. June 23 that while his neighbor was mowing, the lawn mower threw an object up, breaking a window on Harrison's residence. Damage was estimated at $300. The neighbor agreed to pay for the damages.Domestic violence Alcoa
— Alcoa police responded to a fight on Calderwood Street at a location between McDonald's restaurant and CBBC Bank at 12:06 p.m. June 23. When police arrived, the victim, a 15-year-old Alcoa resident, and the person eventually charged in the fight, a 36-year-old Alcoa resident, had been separated. The mother of the 15-year-old said an argument started at a homeless shelter on Louisville Road. They argued as they traveled south on Calderwood Street to get their belongings out of a trailer they were vacating. She said the older man allegedly cursed at her, and the victim, riding in the backseat, told the man to stop cursing at her. The argument escalated. The older man, who was driving, attempted to grab the 15-year-old, the woman alleged. He slammed on the brakes so he could fight with the teen, and the mother got out of the car to help the 15-year-old. The vehicle rolled and she fell on the pavement. The man alleged the 15-year-old had been kicking him in the head as he drove. He said the kicking started when he threw a cold drink on him. He said he stopped because he couldn't drive while the altercation was going on. The mother, a 42-year-old Louisville woman, was injured by the fall and taken by ambulance to the hospital. None of the three people had visible injuries, according to an Alcoa police report. The man was arrested on a charge of domestic violence with simple assault.
— A 45-year-old Alcoa resident alleged he was assaulted at 2:45 a.m. June 23 by his 52-year-old girlfriend, of the same address. He said his girlfriend wanted him to give her a bath, and he said "no." They argued. He told her he wanted her to leave. He alleged she grabbed him by the arm and swung him into a wall, then she pulled him to the ground and started yelling and screaming at him. He had a mark on one arm that looked like a handprint, according to an Alcoa police report. Police didn't feel they could leave without violence reoccurring. The woman was arrested on a charge of domestic violence with assault. The man was advised of his rights as a victim and given a domestic violence packet.
Blount County
— Deputies responded at 11:36 p.m. June 23 to a 9-1-1 hang-up call. They spoke to a 29-year-old Louisville woman who said her 31-year-old husband came in their bedroom yelling. She said she told him to leave several times, he would not and he told her he should smack her in the mouth. She said he grabbed her by the hair and threw punches at her. She said she tried to go outside, he grabbed her by the hair again, covered her mouth and she bit his hand. The husband said his wife became upset when he said he was going to his mother's house for the weekend and she needed to stay home with their children. He said she pushed him into a washer and dryer, he tried to push her off of him and she bit his hand. He said she ran out the door yelling and he tried to calm her down. A neighbor said she heard a female yelling and a male talking calmly. There were no signs of injury on the woman. The man had teeth marks, red marks on his back and his shirt was torn. The woman was arrested on a charge of domestic violence with assault.
— A 41-year-old Maryville woman reported at 10 p.m. June 21 that when she was walking home from her mother's house, a 42-year-old Rockford man grabbed her from behind and hit her in the face. He allegedly also grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the ground. According to the police report, the woman had a small mark on the side of her face and red marks on her neck. Authorities made no contact was made with the man. Legal options were explained to the woman, who refused medical attention.Traffic Alcoa
— Brittany R. Chipps, Lovingood Way, Louisville, said she was traveling on Proffitt Springs Road at 3:41 p.m. June 21 and slowed to turn onto Louisville Loop Road. She said a vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle and fled the scene. Chipps, 23, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.
