Lees, Lankfords celebrate 50 year anniversaries

Lees to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Ralph and Joyce (Irwin) Lee will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebratory program and reception hosted by their children at 1:30 p.m. July 11 at Four Mile Baptist Church, 7000 Four Mile Road, south of Maryville. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

The couple, who were born and reared in Blount County, were married July 6, 1959, at Four Mile Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Orr, of West Maryville Baptist Church, officiated.

Their family includes children Jeff and Mary Lee, of Walnut Cove, N.C., Mitchell and Patricia Lee, of Friendsville, and Janet and Roger Alexander, of Maryville. Grandchildren joining in the anniversary celebration include Georgia, Sid, Jack and Kathryn, of Walnut Cove, N.C., Charles, Christi, Serena and Julie, of Friendsville, and Adam and Ashley, of Maryville.Lankfords honor 50 year marriage
Joan and Darrell Lankford, of Friendsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 20 at Green Meadow Country Club.

Their family includes children, Patricia Ann Hudson and husband Terry Wayne Hudson, of Greenback, and John David Lankford and wife Dawn Marie Lankford, of Alcoa. Their grandchildren include Kyle Wayne Hudson, of Greenback, Alicia Marie Lankford, of Knoxville, Sharon Joan Lankford, of Alcoa, and Brandi Lynn Forcier and husband Tony Forcier, of Parma, Mich. They have one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Marie Forcier, of Parma Mich.

Mr. Lankford is retired from Oak Ridge Associated University and does part-time consulting with the Department of Energy. Mrs. Lankford is retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Mr. Lankford's hobbies are fishing, golfing and wood turning. Mrs. Lankford enjoys making stained glass art. The couple spend much of their leisure time at their cabin that adjoins Cherokee National Forest in Tellico Plains.

They are members of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
