Blount 'Most Wanted' fugitive caught in Greeneville

Authorities have been able to cross another name off the list of Blount County’s most wanted criminals.

According to information from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Michael Cannon, 47, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force Thursday morning in Greeneville, where he had been living.

Cannon was being sought on a charge of failure to appear. According to the sheriff’s office, Cannon has a criminal history going back to 1994 that includes numerous attachments for contempt, charges of public intoxication, possession of cocaine with intent to resell, criminal impersonation, theft of property, driving on a revoked driver’s license, vandalism, delivery of a Schedule II substance, passing worthless checks, casual exchange of a Schedule II substance, felony evading arrest, felony reckless endangerment, and numerous court ordered pay or stays.The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has a deputy assigned to the Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force.
