Alcoa saturation patrol scheduled
The Alcoa Police Department will conduct a traffic safety wide-area saturation patrol on from noon until 8 p.m. Monday.
Officers will be enforcing all moving and nonmoving violations on city streets and state routes while paying particular attention to Alcoa Highway and Pellissippi Parkway.
Officers will focus on aggressive drivers, speeders and seat belt/child restraint violations.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Maryville Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol will have an increased presence in the area during this time period.
The saturation patrol is being conducted as part of the Alcoa Police Department’s commitment to safe travel on our highways and is funded by a Wide Area Saturation Patrol (WASP) grant from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
MHS open house set for Thursday
Maryville High School will hold its First Term Open House from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the school gymnasium.
After an introduction, visitors will then follow their student’s class schedule. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria where parents will have an opportunity to meet with administrators and guidance counselors.
