A two-vehicle wreck left three people injured, one who had to be cut out of a pickup truck, at 9 a.m. Monday on Old Tuckaleechee Pike at La Vista Subdivision and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

According to a Blount County Sheriff’s Office report, Jennifer Parker, 32, Meadow Ridge Road, Walland, was driving south toward U.S. 321 in a white 2001 Kia Sportage when she lost control of the vehicle in a curve, causing the SUV to fishtail and be involved in a T-bone accident with a red 1997 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Allen Moles, 61, Lynn Circle, Maryville. He was traveling north toward the back of Heritage High School.

The Kia collided with the truck on the passenger side.

The report states that Parker was not wearing a seat belt and her vehicle’s air bags did not deploy.

Parker was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to University of Tennessee Medical Center where she underwent surgery, according to the report, and was listed in stable condition late Monday.

Linda Moles, same address and no age available, was a passenger in the pickup. She was trapped, and the door of the pickup had to be cut away to free her.
The Moles duo were both wearing seat belts and their air bags deployed. Rural/Metro transported both Moles to Blount Memorial Hospital.

Allen Moles was transferred to University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition Monday night. Linda Moles was admitted and listed in stable condition at Blount Memorial.

Old Tuckaleechee Pike was closed to traffic at the site of the accident until the people were taken to area hospitals and the vehicles were hauled away by wreckers.
Also responding to the scene were Blount County Fire Department and Blount County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
