Contribution not apt to affect decisions

Dear Editor:
I have just finished reading the article about the judicial candidates accepting campaign contributions from the legal community and I was very upset about it. I do not know Mike Meares and I know absolutely nothing about him. I will not make any comment about him. However, I have known David Duggan for several years and I am proud to call him a friend.
David is one of the most honest and sincere people that I have ever met. He is a Christian and he is a wonderful family man. Our sons played baseball together for several years and I am proud to call him a friend.
After he became a judge, I called to ask a legal question. He told me that he could answer my question, but he could not give me any advice because of the oath he had taken as a judge. No one would have ever known if he had given me advice, but he would have known himself. David will not make judgments based on who has contributed to his campaign. He will make judgments based on facts. He takes his oath seriously. For someone to insinuate otherwise and question his integrity is wrong.
If I ever had to go before a judge, I would want that judge to be as honest and fair as David Duggan. He is a man to be respected and trusted. I am very proud to call him my friend and I will be very proud when he wins the general election. Good luck David, I am voting for you!
Sincerely,
Bonny Davis
