Update: Driver transported by Lifestar dies from injuries

Blount County rescue workers are on the scene of a multi-vehicle wreck involving a school bus on Lamar Alexander Parkway near Townsend.

Elizabeth Mohon of Petersburg, who witnessed the accident, said the school bus was heading West on East Lamar Alexander Parkway when it veered into the oncoming lane of traffic. "The bus went over the top of it (one of the vehicles)," she said.

Mohon said the driver of that vehicle, a woman, was transported from the scene by Lifestar and that two children in that same vehicle were also transported to a hospital. According to information from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the woman died of her injuries.

Another vehicle could be seen off the road in a ravine.
