Swan-Akers

Margaret "Maggie" Brimmer Swan, daughter of Robert S. and Donna R. Swan, of Maryville, is engaged to marry Joshua David Akers, son of Mark L. and Cynthia A. Akers, of Indianapolis, Ind., at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, Indianapolis, Ind.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late W. Frank and Marie J. Randall and the late Theodore B. and Dorothy Swan Hall.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late Ralph and Jane Akers and the late Alfred and Elizabeth Pattengale.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Maryville High School. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind., and a Master of Information Science degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. She is Web content manager at Community Health Network, Indianapolis, Ind.

The bridegroom-to-be is a graduate of Center Grove High School, Greenwood, Ind., and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. He is vice president of sales and business development in the Internet/online jobs industry.
