Hope for Today fundraiser set for Saturday

The third annual fundraiser for Hope for Today, a cancer support group, will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Maryville's family life center. There will be a plant sale, from 3 to 5 p.m. In addition, there will be door prizes, refreshments, a cancer survivor recognition ceremony (5 p.m.), face painting, clowns and more.

Special live entertainment from 6 to 8 p.m. includes Gunner from WIVK Radio, the Sullivan Family, Sammy Sawyer and Jimbo Whaley and Greenbriar. All of the money raised stays in Blount County to help cancer patients.

Atmos Energy plans rummage sale May 17

Atmos Energy is hosting a rummage sale at 8 a.m. May 17. Clothing, furniture, electronics, and other items are being accepted as donations to be sold. All proceeds from the sale benefit Relay For Life of Blount County. For more information, contact Annette Goan at 379-9290 ext. 230.

Atmos Energy is located at 1639 Robert C. Jackson Drive in Maryville.

Sunrise plant sale Saturday

The Sunrise Garden Club will hold its annual spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in he Arcade area at New Midland Plaza in Alcoa.

There will be a good selection of perennials, shrubs, spring flowers, houseplants and many other garden items.

Proceeds are used for promoting conservation.

UT Gardens to hold plant sale

Friends of the UT Gardens will hold the 17th annual spring plant sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the UT West (Agriculture) campus at the Friendship Plaza. There will be free parking and volunteers to assist in selecting plants.

All proceeds will benefit the University of Tennessee Gardens.

Jewelry sale set for June 7

Sterling House of Maryville will hold its fourth annual Jewelry Show and Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7. The proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Memory Walk.

Persons with jewelry to donate should contact Connie Evans at 681-1300. Sterling House is located at 511 Pearson Springs Road, behind Foothills Fire Station.

Festivale for a Cure May 17

Saint Mark's United Methodist Church is hosting Festivale For a Cure from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 17 at Louisville Town Hall on Louisville Road.

The event is set to raise awareness about Relay For Life, cancer research and the fight Blount County is making against cancer.

There will be live music all day, children's games and activities, crafts and food.
