Maryville man reports weekend robbery, assault
A 26-year-old Maryville man told authorities he was attacked and robbed while walking along South Foothills Plaza Drive early Saturday.The man -- who is not being named due to the violent nature of the alleged offense -- said he had just left Naterz Sports Grill, 510 N. Foothills Plaza Drive, when he was walking in the vicinity of the Mail Center, 576 S. Foothills Plaza Drive.
According to a Maryville police report, at that point the man said a green sedan drove up and three individuals got out and attacked him. They allegedly took his credit card, got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
The 26-year-old was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
ALCOA railroad crossing repairs scheduled
ALCOA Inc. railroad crossing repairs will occur on North Wright Road on Tuesday, May 13. As a result, the road between McArthur/N. Wright road intersection and N. Wright/Edison intersection will be closed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13.
