Raven Society benefit set for Saturday

A benefit for the Raven Society will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 1530 McIlvaine Drive, Maryville. There will be thousands of hardy lilies to choose from. Each person who donates to the Raven Society will receive day lilies.

To get there, go west past Blount Memorial Hospital and turn right on Tuckaleechee at Smith's Mortuary. Turn right onto Locha Poka. Drive 0.3 miles up the driveway at the top of the hill.

All lilies are for donation only during this fund-raising event.

WordPlayers to present 'Secret Garden'

The WordPlayers will present "The Secret Garden," based on the story by Francis Hodgson Burnett, at the WordPlayers' Theatre at 1540 Robinson Road in west Knoxville.

The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. July 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26; and at 2 p.m. July 23 and 26.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Children under 12 years pay only $5. Thursday tickets are pay what you can.

Blooms Days Festival set

The sixth annual Blooms Days Garden Festival and Marketplace will be held June 28 and 29 at the University of Tennessee Gardens on Neyland Drive. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
