Blount County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two people who broke into a Louisville man's apartment and pistol-whipped him on Tuesday night.
According to a sheriff's office report, deputies responded to the report of an aggravated burglary at 10:22 p.m. at an apartment on Wheeler Road, Louisville.
Two witnesses reported that they saw a man attempt to enter two apartments at an apartment complex. When the witnesses walked up to the suspect, he got into a silver Honda Accord and fled.
The suspect then pulled in near another nearby apartment where a man and woman exited the vehicle. The man and woman then ran back to their car and left, witnesses reported.
"(A 29-year-old Louisville man) came out of the apartment covered in blood," Deputy Ross Jamerson reported. "I then made contact with (the victim). He stated that a man and woman, who he did not know, kicked in his door and hit him over the head with a Glock pistol."
The 29-year-old man said he asked the suspects who they were, and the man told him "you know what you did." The suspects then left his apartment.
The Louisville man had to large lacerations on the top of his head, Jamerson reported. He was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital.
Marian O'Briant, public information officer for the sheriff's office, said anyone with information on the suspects or the incident should immediately call the Blount County Sheriff's Office 24-hour crime hot line at 273-5200.
