The Blount County Sheriff's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the location of Michael Edwin Hearon, 51, who has been missing since Aug. 23.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 273-5001, or the 24-hour Crime Hotline at 273-5200. To be eligible for any reward, individuals must be willing to give a name and contact information.
Hearon was last seen leaving his residence on Bell Branch Road in Tallassee on an ATV. A five-day extensive search for Hearon was conducted by officers, rescue workers and hundreds of volunteers.
Hearon's ATV was found on Aug. 26, but Hearon was not located and the search of his 100-acre Happy Valley property and the surrounding area did not yield any other clues.
The sheriff's office CID is actively following up on any and all leads on Hearon.
