The Daily Times is pleased to announce the launch of Spotted, a photo sharing, social networking site that is focused on creating a vibrant user community.
The site is open to the entire community, and will showcase many of the great events that take place in Blount County.
Daily Times staff and photographers will attend local gatherings and social events to capture the moments that make Blount County such a special place to live. Staff photos will be featured on Spotted along with community photos from the same events.
The goal of the site is to create a place for sharing memories with the entire community.
Spotted is delivered in two sections: "We Spotted" and "You Spotted." While "We Spotted" is primarily used for highlighting community events, "You Spotted" is where users can show off their favorite photos, comment on friends' photos and create dynamic photo blogs using their own galleries.
Internet photo sharing and social networking has become very popular in recent years. Sites like Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and Picasa host thousands of photos with more being added all the time. Spotted provides the same great social features of the national sites, while providing the advantage of being locally focused and geared toward promoting community events and featuring local photos and photographers.
Anyone interested in photography and the Blount County community will find a home at Spotted. The site is designed to be dynamic and fun to use. Users can upload and comment on their own photographs, interact with other users through comments and messaging and rate their favorite pictures.
The site is a service of The Daily Times and is provided free of charge. Anyone may create an account by visiting spotted.thedailytimes.com. A brief registration form is required along with a valid email address.
