Porter school to host annual Fall Festival
Porter Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival and Carnival from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Tickets will be sold at the door with proceeds benefiting Porter's teachers. The community is invited to attend, tour the historic campus, and enjoy the festivities. There will be a haunted house, door prizes, cake walk, games, food and more.
Mane Support offers group for children
Mane Support is offering a bereavement group for children in grades K-4th who have experienced the death of someone they know.
The group involves being with other children who have experienced a death, working with horses, art, play and refreshments.
Buckaroos is held on the last Saturday of each month. Space is limited to only 10 participants. Call Kim Henry at 414-0557 for more information or to register.
All activities are conducted on the ground and there is no riding.
Broadway Galleries slates grand opening
Broadway Galleries at Preservation Plaza will hold its grand opening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Preservation Plaza in downtown Maryville.
The new gallery will play host to local artists as well as Maryville College Student Art Shows and University of Tennessee Student Art Shows. Regular business hours for the gallery will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during Last Friday Art Walks.
The opening will feature award-winning local artists Diann Lewis-Bishop, Susan Birdwell, Katie Gamble, Katie Kinney and Gloria Nelson.

'Boo! at Zoo' will continue this week
"Boo! at the Zoo" will continue at the Knoxville Zoo from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
The largest Halloween event in Knoxville, Boo! at the Zoo also includes trick-or-treating down the Boo! Trail, monsterific music and fun at the Monster Mash Tent in the Clayton Family Kids Cove and the opportunity to meet costume characters, play games and ride the haunted carousel.
Tickets are $6 per person. Children under 2 are admitted free. Parking is $4.
The Knoxville Zoo is located off exit 392A from Interstate 40 and is open every day except Christmas Day.
