Steve Dixon and Joe Gallagher of Louisville were elected aldermen for the town of Louisville Tuesday night.

Dixon was the front-runner with 867 votes to Joe Gallagher’s 667, according to unofficial returns.

Mike Mund, the long-time incumbent, was third with 463.

Dixon looks forward to being involved in the new city hall and the community infrastructure and believes that his public finance background may be a benefit as an alderman. He is an ardent environmentalist and thinks Louisville needs to get ahead of its inevitable growth and change to ensure responsible development.

Gallagher said his win was a clear indication that Louisville wants transparency in government and enforcement of zoning regulations. He spent most of the day talking to voters at the polls.

“We touched a lot of people, and I think it made a big difference. To finish ahead of Mike Mund is an achievement, because he’s a good person, and he’s served Louisville well.”
