Dear Editor:
On Oct. 18, Peck's Memorial United Methodist Church hosted an Environmental Festival. We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank everyone who helped make this day a success.
Melanie Tucker at The Daily Times - thank you for helping us get the word out with your articles in the paper.
Vic and Debbie Manges, Jim and Judi Taylor, Kim Teffeteller, and Bruce Stott - also known as the Christian group Victorious. Your music was so beautiful and an inspiration to us, and we will be honored to have you back to sing for us again. (Inside, next time!)
To all the partners who participated: Keep Blount Beautiful, Knox Recycling Coalition, East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition, Tennessee Valley Authority, UT Blount County Master Gardener Association, Girl Scout Troop 1104 and leader Jennifer Spirko, and the Blount County Soil Conservation District. Your displays are so interesting, and we appreciate the opportunity to gather information and even got to turn in some batteries and exchange mercury thermometers!
Lastly, and most importantly, thank you Charlene DeSha of Keep Blount Beautiful. We could not have held this event without your support. From bringing partners on board, to your advice for children's activities, and your willingness to help with every aspect of making our day a success, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We plan on making this an annual event, and we hope to see you all next year. God's creation is precious, and we must all work to protect and preserve it!
