NASHVILLE — The sponsor of a proposal to allow dogs at restaurants' outdoor dining areas has delayed a vote on his bill.
The measure, HB1603, sponsored by Rep. Harry Brooks, a Knoxville Republican, would allow cities with populations of at least 100,000 to allow the practice.
Brooks did not tell the House Health and Human Resources Committee on Tuesday why he wanted to put off a vote until the panel's last meeting.
The companion measure is awaiting a vote in the Senate State and Local Government Committee.
