JACKSBORO — A Sept. 9 trial date has been set for a former Campbell County school teacher accused of sexual misconduct with seven girls.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported 55-year-old Harolyn Dean Branam did not appear in court at his arraignment in Jacksboro Monday morning, but his attorney entered not guilty pleas on Branam's behalf.

Branam retired from the school system after a grand jury indicted him last month on three felony charges of sexual battery by an authority figure and seven misdemeanor counts of inappropriate touching. His accusers are girls between 12 and 13 years old.

Circuit Court Judge Shayne Sexton ordered Monday that Branam not contact alleged witnesses or witnesses in the case.
