Police: Alcoa man allegedly rams girlfriend's car Sunday

An Alcoa man was taken into custody for allegedly ramming a car occupied by his girlfriend on Sunday.
Riyad Izahdiase Shereef, 21, W. Howe Street, Alcoa, was arrested by Alcoa police officers on Monday on the charges of domestic violence with aggravated assault and leaving the scene with damage.
Charges are pending against the woman, who allegedly took a baseball bat to his car after the incident.
Shereef allegedly rammed the driver's side of the sedan that his girlfriend rode in at 4:27 a.m. Sunday as they traveled north on Kelvin Street near West Howe Street, said witnesses. He was driving a 2009 white Chevrolet Impala owned by a Knoxville rental car company, according to an Alcoa police report.
Shereef was released on $11,000 in bonds pending 9 a.m. April 16 hearings in Blount County General Sessions Court.
