A Rockford couple is desperately searching for their 8-year-old Boston terrier that was last seen Thursday afternoon by neighbors.
Karen Bass and her husband, Eugene "Catfish" Bass, live in Littlebrook Subdivision off Old Knoxville Highway. Karen said a neighbor saw the female Boston terrier named Lucy on the porch Thursday but she hasn't been seen since.
Lucy, Karen explained, is allergic to her collar and metal tag so she wasn't wearing any type of identification.
Karen has been busy taking care of her terminally-ill husband, who has been a patient at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He is scheduled to come home today, and Karen said she has been doing all she can to find their pet for his arrival. She has contacted several veterinarians and animal control personnel. They are working to get a flyer ready to hang in nearby neighborhoods.
Lucy is an indoor pet and the Basses have had her since she was a puppy.
Anyone who might have information about Lucy's whereabouts is asked to call Karen at 981-5040 or 724-8821.
