TCAPs old hat

The last couple of weeks at Union Grove Middle School have been wild! Two weeks ago, our principals, Alicia Lail and Rhonda McLemore, surprised the faculty and the entire student body with TCAP T-shirts because students were preparing for the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program achievement tests. Then on that Thursday, we had a TCAP pep rally.
On that day, every student and faculty member wore his or her TCAP T-shirt. At the pep rally, the Drum Line from William Blount High School came and performed for us. Even some of the members wore T-shirts. We owe Ms. Lail and Ms. McClemore a special thanks for that generous gift.
Then just last week we started testing. Monday was Language Arts and Reading, Tuesday was Math, Wednesday was Science, and Thursday was either World History, Geography, or American History. It depended on what grade. Every student gave his or her personal best.
On Wednesday, our cafeteria provided the whole school with a free breakfast. Then on Thursday, we had a picnic lunch on the football field. Then finally on Friday the TCAPS were over. To celebrate there was an in-school volleyball game. It was against the eighth grade girls on the volleyball team against members of the faculty. It was a real treat!
